What you get with PaperPilot

Citation Helper for Overleaf

When you type \cite{} in Overleaf, PaperPilot detects it and opens a citation panel in the side panel. Paste or search for a BibTeX entry, click Cite, and the extension inserts the citation key into your .tex file and adds the BibTeX entry to your .bib file simultaneously. It handles multiple .bib files, catches duplicates, and formats keys consistently. No more switching between Google Scholar tabs and your editor.

1,280+ Conference Deadlines with Live Countdowns

Track deadlines across AI, HCI, software engineering, systems, security, databases, theory, graphics, and more. Each conference shows a live ticking countdown, color-coded by urgency. Filter by field, ICORE 2026 ranking (A* through C), and organization (ACM, IEEE, USENIX, AAAI, and all SIGs). Export any deadline to Google Calendar with one click or download .ics files for Apple Calendar and Outlook. All deadlines display in your local timezone.

Kanban Boards for Paper Management

Create a board for each paper you are working on, organize tasks into To Do, In Progress, and Done columns, and link each project to a specific conference deadline. The live countdown appears at the top of your board so you always know how much time remains. Drag tasks between columns as your paper progresses from early draft to camera-ready submission.

Calendar View

See all your tracked deadlines on a monthly calendar grid. Identify weeks with overlapping deadlines, spot gaps where you could plan new submissions, and distinguish between abstract and full paper due dates.

100% Private, 100% Free

All your data stays in your browser's local storage. PaperPilot collects no personal data, runs no analytics on your research, and sends nothing to any server. There are no paid tiers, no trial periods, and no feature gates. Install it and start using every feature immediately.

You can also try the web-based deadline tracker without installing anything - it works in any browser including Firefox and Safari. For the full experience with citations, kanban boards, and the Overleaf integration, install PaperPilot from the Chrome Web Store.
